LVL stands for Lift Volume and Length, this is the new eyelash treatment everybody is talking about. This treatment will enhance your own natural eyelashes to create a separated, lifted and fuller lash look. This semi permanent treatment can last up to 6 weeks making your eyes look more lifted and open. It is very common that a lot of people don’t realise their own lash potential, and for those who can’t or would prefer not to have eyelash extensions this is the perfect treatment for you.
Above is a 5 minute video from an inspiring makeup artist Lisa Eldridge, she talks through her LVL experience whilst giving you insight to the procedure of the LVL enhance treatment.
My LVL lash experience
Before deciding to train in this specific treatment I decided to try it out for myself to see what all the fuss was about. I got mine done at Bloom Beauty Bar in Berkhamstead by a friend. I was already going away on holiday so thought to have it done for my trip would be ideal! I would then also see how water durable the treatment was and overall see how much difference it made. Here is a before and after picture of my eyelashes having the treatment done.
The treatment takes around 45 minutes and your eyes must be shut at all times. Unlike a perm this treatments straightens the lashes from the root and uses different solutions to give you instant lift, volume and length. The treatment wasn’t uncomfortable, it was actually quite relaxing. Your eyelashes are then tinted to give you a light mascara effect.
I could not believe the difference it made, let alone this being my own natural eyelashes! From then, I have been hooked. For the first week of my holiday I barely wore mascara as my lashes were dark enough from the tint. I hardly had to put on any mascara and when I did it was an absolute dream! My lashes almost looked like falsies, I had people asking if they were real! I normally have to use eyelash curlers and even when doing this they never stayed in an upright position. Going in and out of the pool had no affect on my eyelashes at all. This only thing I would suggest, if you choose to wear mascara when taking it off push your cotton pad or wipe in an upward motion. This will help train your lashes to stay up and keep them separated, rather than dragging the remover downwards onto the eye (this technique also helps not add any unwanted wrinkles!).
I cannot recommend this treatment enough, and with minimal (if any) maintenance this is a hassle free eyelash treatment. It has been 7 weeks now and my lashes are still lifted, the tint has faded but this is to be expected. You do however have the option to go back for a tint top up! As mentioned above it can last up to 6 weeks (mine even longer, I clearly don’t have lashes that grow very quickly!) and will only seem not as lifted as your eyelashes grow out.
After training with Nouveau (a well established eyelash training organisation) I am now qualified to perform this treatment. I am already so happy with my clients reactions when they see the results.
